Angelina Jolie Eminem wedding MLK Jr. Cynthia Watros Odette Yustman

So its funny how far we've come as a nation. Seeing as how it is (was) Martin Luther King Day today, and many of us got the day off of work or school, one would assume that perhaps we would take an interest in researching exactly why it is that we got this day off. Maybe our nation would take a moment to look up an inspirational quote or two about how segregation really hurt our country. One would assume that this would have been normal behavior... HOWEVER while loading up my msn.com homepage I realized that our country is taking the time to honor MLK Jr. only AFTER they get their update on Angelina Jolie (and I'm assuming Brad Pitt) and Eminem's wedding (which should be considered an oxymoron all in itself... let me tie my wife up in the trunk of my car, threaten to kill her, and then propose... that marriage is going to work out GREAT). And as I stare at the "KISS BRAD PITT AND GET A FREE PINK RAZR" ad at the top of my page I can't help but think that one day celebrites will rule the nation - instead of electing Presidents, Joan Rivers will be appointing the head of our nation based on what they wore to the Oscars and how much botox they have in their face. With Arnold in office its only a matter of time before more and more celebrities become governors and then before long it'll be "Clooney for President Campaign" (the saddest part being that atleast 40% of the people in this country would rally for him). And yes, I'm aware that we've had presidents in the past who have had movie careers, but they weren't morons like the celebrities today. Our country has managed to spawn a whole new breed of celebrites where they only use 10% of their brains. Anyhow, I'm digressing from my prior point of MLK day. Take a moment everybody - and perhaps think about why you have the day off.
